Pasiphae (Pasipae) was wife the wife of King Minos. She wast the daughter of Helios and Perse, and mother to Glaucus, Andogeus, Phaedra, and Ariadne.
After King Minos insulted the god Poseidon by sacrificing a substitute bull, the god made Pasiphae develop a passionate love for the White Bull. Pasiphae became mother of the Minotaur after having Daedalus design a construction that permitted her mating with the White Bull.
